This is project is collecting (911) calls for service in the city of St. Louis, geocoding the locations, and overlaying them on google maps. I wanted to be able to track the number of gunshots in a geographic area over time. Calls to 911 for gun related issues is probably a decent proxy for this metric. However, it is not a perfect metric because the city of St. Louis is not currently able to answer all 911 calls. See here and here.

• Have a large backlog of datapoints that need to be geocoded
• Currently the web interface is just displaying the most recent 100 calls. I'd like to add searching and filtering functionality to allow users to search by ward, neighborhood, call type, etc.
• Add custom markers to more easily differentiate the kind of call each marker represents.
• Add "polygon" / border boundaries to identify wards and neighborhoods.
• Add API endpoints to make it easier to query aggregate data
• Add some data visualization functionality to compare rates over time
• A lot of the code should be cleaned up
• Assuming I get those things done, find a better domain name
